In Kawashima is a Japanese inn in central Kyoto that has been operating for over 150 years and offers tatami rooms. It serves a Japanese-style breakfast, and guests take off their shoes at the entrance and walk in with slippers. In late autumn the rooms were cold, and some rooms have no heater. The bathroom is a drawback and the toilet is on the first floor, which makes moving around inconvenient.
