Omura-ya is a retro izakaya near Kyoto University that serves obanzai, Kyoto-style home-cooked side dishes, along with drinks. Its lunch set includes three kinds of obanzai, dashimaki, eggplant dengaku, grilled fish, multigrain rice, and miso soup. It is about a 10-minute walk east of Demachiyanagi Station, and a line forms before the 11 a.m. opening, with orders placed by QR code. Adding several drinks and side dishes raises the cost of the meal considerably.
