The Hiroshima Prefectural Art Museum sits beside Shukkeien on the road to Hiroshima Castle, and displays works including Salvador Dalí and Japanese painting. It holds more than about 5,000 works, with strengths in artists connected to Hiroshima and in modern art of the 1920s and 1930s. Tickets are bought on the first floor, and going through the second- and third-floor exhibitions takes about an hour. A side door leads directly into Shukkeien, and an English audio guide can be played on a phone.
