Isehiro

Isehiro Kyobashi Honten is an izakaya in Kyobashi, Tokyo, that serves yakitori grilled over charcoal. At lunch it offers yakitori don topped with four or five chicken skewers, and the rice portion can be set to futsu, omori, or sukuname. A line forms before opening at lunch, and customers order while waiting and watch the grilling from their seats. In some cases more than 20 minutes pass between sitting down and the food arriving, and the sauce and seasoning are on the light side.
