Eataly operates on the basement first floor of Gransta Marunouchi, outside the ticket gates of Tokyo Station, combining Italian groceries with a restaurant, cafe, and gelato counter. You can eat panini, carbonara, pizza, and tiramisu gelato, and buy Italian ingredients imported directly from Italy. On a Saturday lunch visit the wait was about 20 minutes, and the cafe and restaurant use a prepayment system. Panini can already be sold out around 4 p.m., so you need to stop by around lunchtime.
