Kawasen

Kawasen is a traditional restaurant in Kumamoto that serves freshwater eel dishes and eel rice bowls. Hitsumabushi features tender eel with a charcoal aroma, and simmered eel liver is also on the menu. The restaurant has a four-person room, and after registering for the wait you check your place on your phone and order from an English menu. At lunchtime the wait for locals can run about 30 minutes.
