Fish Dance is a 22-meter-tall carp sculpture in Meriken Park in Kobe. It stands at the mouth of the Koikawa River, depicts a dancing carp, was designed by Frank Gehry, and was supervised by Tadao Ando. It was installed in 1987 to mark the 120th anniversary of the opening of the Port of Kobe, and it is known as the only place in Japan where a Frank Gehry work can be seen. The chain-link mesh has rusted and turned brown on the surface, and removal is under consideration due to safety concerns.
