Osaka Station is a large JR conventional-line train station in the Umeda central district. It opened in 1874 and has a history of more than 150 years, serving as a transit hub where the JR Osaka Loop Line and several private railways meet. Large department stores, shopping malls, and restaurant areas are gathered together, so shopping and eating can be done in one place. Multiple rail lines and underground shopping streets are tangled like a maze, making it easy for first-time visitors to get lost.
