Date Soba

Date Soba in Okayama serves ramen and demikatsu rice bowls. The half-and-half set pairs soba in a soy sauce broth boiled down with katsuobushi and a katsudon in demiglace sauce with a slight curry note. Staff ask at ordering whether to add a raw egg to the katsudon, and on weekends the wait can run about 30 minutes. The shop is very small, so groups and visitors with young children cannot be accommodated.
