Tawaraya

Tawaraya is an udon specialist located directly in front of Kitano Tenmangu in Kyoto. Its signature udon is served as thick noodles, and the former single-strand style has been changed to two strands for easier eating. Customers write their name on a waiting list at the front of the shop and wait their turn, usually eating within two to three minutes. The signature udon noodles do not absorb the broth well.
