Seokodang is a two-story wooden building in Deoksugung in Seoul, unusual among the palace's halls. Its dark brown exterior has no dancheong paint, and its long horizontal shape gives it the look of a traditional house. After the Imjin War, King Seonjo returned from Uiju and stayed here, and it was the site where Inmok Daebi was confined and Gwanghaegun's crimes were later condemned. It was restored to its old form after the Deoksugung fire, but without dancheong it lacks the colorful appearance of the other halls.
