Deoksugung Jungmyeongjeon is a historic building in Seoul that served as an imperial library and as a residence for King Gojong. The Eulsa Treaty was signed there in 1905. It stands outside the Deoksugung wall on Jeongdong-gil, reached by turning off the Deoksugung stone-wall road near City Hall Station. Because it is tucked inside Jeongdong-gil and separate from Deoksugung, it is easy to pass by and admission is free.
