Junghwajeon is the main hall at the center of Deoksugung in Seoul, where the Korean Empire held state rites and audiences. It was first built in 1902 as a two-story building, burned down in a 1904 fire, and was rebuilt in 1906 as a single-story structure. The hall has five bays at the front and four at the side, a paljak roof, a two-tier woldae platform, and a wide courtyard. It is smaller than the main halls of other palaces.
