Dondeokjeon is a two-story Western-style building behind Seokjojeon in Deoksugung, built as a diplomatic space for the Korean Empire. It was constructed as a banquet hall for the 40th anniversary of Gojong's accession and later used to meet envoys and ministers from other countries and to receive officials. Demolished by the Japanese colonial government in 1920, it was restored in 2023 and now holds exhibitions on the Korean Empire inside. It is also recorded as the site of the First US-Soviet Joint Commission.
