Darangsi is an old neighborhood restaurant in Jeju City that serves gogi-guksu, kimchi stew, kimchi jeongol, and dombe-gogi. The gogi-guksu pairs a light broth and chewy noodles with fatty boiled pork, and the kimchi stew is filled with pork and has a cool, spicy flavor. Neighborhood elders, university students, and nearby office workers all eat here, and past midnight Jeju chefs stop by, sometimes creating a wait before dawn. The kimchi jeongol is served in portions for two to three adults, and on busy days it may come out less boiled, so you have to cook it further yourself.
