Vefa Bozacisi is a traditional drink shop near the Istanbul aqueduct that has been selling boza since 1876. The fermented cold barley drink is served with cinnamon on top, and adding roasted chickpeas from the shop across the street gives it a nutty flavor. Customers pick up their own boza glasses from behind the counter after paying, and the glass Atatürk drank from is on display. The sweet, sour, and thick taste is divisive for first-timers.
