Central Market sits in Central on Hong Kong Island, near IFC Mall and the Mid-Levels Escalator. It is an old market building converted into a complex of food courts, dessert shops, and souvenir stores, renovated from a traditional market that opened in 1842. A connecting bridge on the second floor divides restaurants on one side from souvenir shops on the other, which sell art toys, figures, and egg-shaped bread. Some shops are closed and the selection leans toward souvenirs, so there is a limited amount to see.
