Gyelim is a forest in Gyo-dong, Gyeongju, located between Woljeonggyo Bridge and Cheomseongdae. It holds the birth legend of Kim Alji, the founder of the Gyeongju Kim clan, and a stream flows among the tall old trees. The forest was called Sirim during the Silla period before its name was changed to Gyelim, and it is Historic Site No. 19 within the Wolseong District of the Gyeongju Historic Areas, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It can be visited together with Gyeongju Hyanggyo, Woljeonggyo Bridge, and Cheomseongdae, and lights are turned on at night though they are dim.
