Hanakujira honten

Hanakujira Honten is a small oden shop in Fukushima Ward, Osaka, serving Japanese fish cakes such as daikon, egg, UFO, and suji. It also offers yubu pouches with green onion and ginger, udon yubu pouches, and octopus and tofu dishes, served with a little hot broth poured over them. The shop opens at 4 p.m., and orders are written by hand on a memo pad. The space seats about five groups, with backless chairs and vinyl curtain seating, so even after a long wait it can be cold and uncomfortable.
