Higashi Honganji Sapporo Betsuin is a Jodo Shinshu temple south of Susukino in Sapporo, close to Higashi Honganji Station, with a main hall, a gate and a bell tower. On the 8th of each month and on the fourth Sunday, a morning market sells bread, cookies, vegetables, tea and handicrafts indoors and outdoors. The public can join the morning service in the main hall every day from 6:30 a.m. The temple was founded in Meiji 3 as a base for the development and propagation of Hokkaido, and instead of the usual goshuin, a temple stamp is issued at the office.
