Hokkaido Shrine Office

Hokkaido Jingu is a shrine next to Maruyama Park in Sapporo, reachable on foot from Maruyama Koen Station. On January 1, many local residents visit for New Year prayers, and during cherry blossom season stalls open inside the grounds. The walk from the station to the park entrance takes about five minutes, and from the torii gate to the main hall about ten more minutes; arriving early means fewer people. The grounds hold a wide, open area with many large trees, and the route is typically walked together with Maruyama Park.
