Ruins of Ura-gomon Gate

Fukuoka Castle Iemon Gate Site is a historical ruin located below the north side of the castle keep and west of the main enclosure. Unlike the formal gates used on special occasions, this rear gate was used daily by domain officials entering and leaving the main enclosure. A small stone marker inscribed "Iemon Gate Site" and an information board stand at the site, and a QR code provides access to further materials. The marker is small, so the site is easy to pass by without a sign.
