Nakatsukasa Magotaro Inari Shrine sits near Koun Shrine in the Nishikoen area of Fukuoka, and neon lights illuminate its main hall and approach. A coin offering turns the lights on for about one minute, and goshuin are issued only in the form of designs pre-written on paper. From Tenjin, a bus reaches the nearby stop in under 20 minutes, followed by a 7- to 8-minute walk uphill. The office is sometimes unattended, so visitors must call or wait, making it difficult to receive a goshuin right away.
