Gurose Shrine is a small shrine on the path descending from the northern foot of Nishi Park in Fukuoka toward Aratsu Bridge. A small shrine building and several subordinate and branch shrines remain within the grounds. A notice beside the office explains that the shrine was founded in 1732 to help people during a famine, and shows old maps. The shrine is normally unattended, so visitors rarely encounter anyone during a visit.
