Goreme Open Air Museum in Cappadocia is a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you can see cave churches and monastic living spaces. It holds dozens of churches carved from tuff in the 10th to 12th centuries, along with religious icons and frescoes. The surviving icons date to the 13th and 14th centuries, and photography is banned inside most of the churches for preservation. Visitor numbers are high, so waits are long, and some churches charge an additional fee.
