The Tower of the Winds is an octagonal marble tower in the Roman Agora of Athens that served as a weather station and clock tower. It retains a sundial that measured time by sunlight and carvings of the eight wind gods. The tower's form and the reliefs at its top can be seen up close from outside the railing. Paying the entrance fee to go inside makes little difference compared to the view from outside.
