Cheo Leo Cafe sits in a small alley in District 3, Ho Chi Minh City, and has operated as a Vietnamese-style coffee shop since 1938. Its signature drink is bac xiu coffee made with thick condensed milk, and butter or coconut can be added. The water used for the coffee is left at room temperature for three days, then boiled several times in a kettle over a charcoal stove. The cafe is now run by the founder's two granddaughters, marking three generations of family ownership.
