Sumiyaki Unafuji Midtown is an eel restaurant on the third floor of Midtown Yaesu near Tokyo Station, serving hitsumabushi and unadon. The eel is grilled until the surface is lightly crisp and served with tare sauce, and it can be eaten with chopped scallions and sansho pepper or with ochazuke by pouring on tea. You can walk in without a reservation, and at 5:30 p.m. there was no wait to enter, with the cucumber side dish refilled on its own. A wait forms on Sundays past noon and at dinner without a reservation.
