Hongssaem Tteokbokki is a neighborhood snack shop near the Hongdae school area selling miltteok tteokbokki, sundae, and fried items. The old-style tteokbokki uses plenty of large scallions and has a savory spicy flavor rather than an excessive capsaicin heat, and the frying oil is changed often. Customers can bring a lunchbox for takeout, and the shop takes a summer break, so a phone call is needed before visiting. Odeng broth is clean, and gimbap and yakimandu are sold as well; the tteokbokki is on the spicy side.
