Ranbetsurou

Ranbetsurou is near Saga-Arashiyama Station in Arashiyama, Kyoto, and serves soft-shelled turtle broth ramen and eel ramen. The clear, deep turtle broth comes with eel chashu, and rice is added to the remaining broth to finish it like porridge. The eight-seat counter shop on the second floor sets a small burner under the ramen to keep the broth warm. Noodle portions are small and prices are on the higher side.
