Sushi Naritaya

Sushi Naritaya is a sushi restaurant near the Arashiyama bamboo grove and Tenryu-ji in Kyoto that serves eel, tuna, and salmon sushi. The eel is grilled over fire, and the sushi is made with large aged hoe and rice with a good vinegar flavor. It opens at 11 a.m., and the 8-piece set can be ordered with miso soup and eel sushi added. The shop has only four tables, so arriving late means a wait.
