Benkei Udon

Benkei Udon Nishikyogoku Honten is a Kyoto-style udon shop about a five-minute walk from Nishikyogoku Station in Kyoto. Its signature Benkei Udon comes with sweet beef, spicy shredded burdock, and fried tofu, in a broth that is mildly sweet with heat that arrives at the end. The shop has both counter and floor seating and stays open until late at night. A line tends to form around midday.
