Shoun-ji is a Soto Zen Buddhist temple reached by walking from Ikebukuro Station's west exit toward Yamate-dori or from Kanamecho Station. Behind the main hall are the graves of manga artist Shotaro Ishinomori and Fujio Ozawa, who wrote the lyrics to "Ringo no Uta." At Bouzu and Coffee on the grounds, visitors sit in a quiet study facing the garden and drink coffee during two-hour reserved sessions. The cafe operates irregularly, so opening hours should be checked before visiting.
