Daewon-Og

Daewonok is a Pyongyang naengmyeon restaurant near Paldalmun in Suwon. It serves mul naengmyeon and bibim naengmyeon, and the bibim naengmyeon is topped with gochutgaru. The restaurant has been run by two generations for about 60 years, and broth preparation begins each day at 4 p.m. with soaking brisket to draw out the blood. The clear, lightly salted flavor typical of Pyongyang naengmyeon is divisive.
