The Abashiri Prison Museum in Abashiri, Hokkaido, is a history museum that shows the prison facilities and the lives of prisoners conscripted for the development of Hokkaido. It recreates the Meiji-era prison, courthouse, and auxiliary buildings with mannequins. Visitors can follow the Korean commentary and spend about two hours viewing the exhibits. There is a parking area dedicated to campervans and a large parking lot, and the site is in a different location from the current Abashiri Prison.
