The Ulsanbawi course in Seoraksan National Park starts at Sogongwon in Sokcho and runs along a rock wall where six peaks and a 900m-high rock formation line up like a folding screen. Up to Heundeulbawi the path is gentle dirt, then stone steps and rock sections lead to three observation points overlooking downtown Sokcho and the East Sea. The route is 3.9km from the Sogongwon entrance to the summit and takes about four hours round trip, with a 1km stair section after Heundeulbawi. On weekends the Sogongwon parking lot is congested and traffic can back up to the entrance.
