Torishige is a yakiton restaurant specializing in pork and beef offal, a 3-5 minute walk from the south exit of Shinjuku Station. It serves skewers coated in a special tare along with liver, tsukune, and green pepper meatballs, and the omakase course includes sukiyaki and steak. The restaurant began as a street stall in the Shinjuku black market in 1949 and has a first-floor counter and second-floor seating. Even after reserving, there can be a 15-30 minute wait and the first dish may arrive late.
