Pan Maison Shinjuku is a bakery in the alleys of Shinjuku that sells salt bread and variations on it. The lineup runs from plain salt bread to mentaiko, melon, toast, and apple pie salt bread, and the Shinjuku branch also has its own fresh donuts. Arriving at 8:30 AM means no line or about two people, and buying takes five to ten minutes. Salt bread that has cooled is chewier than salt bread straight from the oven.
