Ajigen is a small yakitori-focused izakaya in Kyoto that local regulars mainly visit. Skewers such as negima, chicken neck, tsukune, and bonjiri are served two per order, grilled one by one by the owner. The bar has an English menu and stays open relatively late. On weekends, seats can fill with regulars alone, and because the clientele is mostly local regulars, service to tourists is limited.
