The Lawn Park is a wide grass plaza in Tokyo, located north of the Meiji Jingu main hall in front of the treasure hall. Under the shade of large trees, visitors sunbathe, read, and meditate, and on clear days the high-rise buildings of Shinjuku are visible in the distance. It is a place to rest after walking from worship, and fewer people are here than around the main hall, so lying on the grass or staying to look at the view works well. The grass grows thick, and insects are present on warm days.
