Hyehwamun Gate (Dongsomun)

Hyehwamun (Dongsomun) is the east small gate of the Hanyangdoseong city wall, located near Hansung University Station in Seongbuk-dong 1-ga, Seongbuk-gu, Seoul. It sits on the Hanyangdoseong fortress trail that runs toward Naksan Park and Dongdaemun. During the Joseon period it marked the boundary between the walled city and the outside and served as a gateway on the sunseonggil circuit. Only the gate and its gate tower remain, so there is not much to see.
