Several windmills line Gavrillos Hill above the village of Emporio on Santorini. The group mixes ruined windmills with others restored to a new condition, and the hill path looks down over the village and the black beach. The site is uncrowded at 4 p.m., and a cafe and a small Greek Orthodox church stand at the top. Many of the windmills are ruined, so only one of the two accessible ones can be entered.
