Gaeseongjip is a mandu restaurant in Bangbae-dong, Seoul, that makes North Korean-style kimchi mandu and manduguk by hand. Its tteok manduguk comes with large mandu and rice cakes in a thick sagol broth with perilla seed, served alongside kimchi and kkakdugi. The mandu made each day run out around 1 p.m., and lunch waits can run from 15 minutes to an hour. The dining room is small with few tables, so the line is long at lunch, and takeout must be ordered two days in advance.
