Woljeongsa, the head temple of the Jogye Order's Fourth District, stands in Odaesan National Park in Pyeongchang and was founded during the Three Kingdoms period. Its grounds hold an octagonal nine-story stone pagoda from the Goryeo period, and a roughly 1 km fir tree path runs from the Iljumun gate to Geumganggyo bridge. The fir tree path is a flat forest trail lined with about 1,700 trees, and the Seonjae trail continues about 8.5 km to Sangwonsa. The temple bell sounds at dawn, the fall foliage season draws crowds, and parking carries a separate fee.
