The equestrian statue of Marshal Joffre, French commander-in-chief and hero of World War I, stands at the end of the Champ de Mars in Paris. It faces the Eiffel Tower near the École Militaire and stands in front of the Grand Palais Éphémère. The open area around it allows photographs with the Eiffel Tower in the background, and at night the tower's illuminated view is visible. Construction of the Grand Palais Éphémère covers the front of the statue, leaving only the back visible.
