Palais de Chaillot is a pavilion built in 1937 on Place du Trocadéro, facing the Eiffel Tower directly. Inside are the Musée de l'Homme and the Musée national de la Marine, with a 195-meter courtyard and terraces extending on both sides. At night, people watch the Eiffel Tower's illuminated exterior from the square, and at 1 a.m. the white Eiffel display runs for five minutes. Crowds gather here, so watch for pickpockets.
