Namba Yasaka Shrine is a shrine near Namba and Dotonbori in Osaka, and its symbol is a giant lion-head-shaped shishaden. The shishaden swallows misfortune, illness, and disaster through its mouth to remove them and invite good fortune, and omikuji fortunes can be drawn on the grounds. Admission is free, and visiting early in the morning means fewer people, with the restroom kept clean. The grounds are small, so there is almost nothing to see besides the shishaden.
