Kinmata is an old Japanese restaurant near Nishiki Market in Kyoto that serves traditional kaiseki and lunch tendon. The course presents seasonal ingredients one at a time, followed by uni bread, Kuroge Wagyu, and hojicha ochazuke. The building opened in 1801 and became a nationally registered tangible cultural property in 2001 as a kyomachiya, with tatami private rooms and counter seats facing the chef's cooking. It is not a casual meal.
