Konchi-ji is a Rinzai-sect Nanzenji-branch temple in Shiba Park, across from Tokyo Tower. It was founded in 1619 by Suden, political adviser to Tokugawa Ieyasu, and is the 28th site of the Edo 33 Kannon pilgrimage, housing a Sho Kannon statue. The temple is about a 15-minute walk from Kamiyacho Station, and pressing the intercom at the temple office provides guidance to the main hall and two types of goshuin, for the main deity and for Enma Daiō. The main hall is an octagonal concrete building rebuilt after the Tokyo air raids, and its entrance is hard to find.
