Koharuya is a small sukiyaki restaurant in a cluster of eateries a short walk from Hongdae Station in Seoul. It serves single-person sukiyaki and gyudon, with a small pot set on a personal burner so diners simmer meat, mushrooms, yubu, and vegetables in a shallow broth and dip them in egg yolk. Water bottles shaped like Lego bricks and fish-shaped spoons are among the items on the tables, and each meal comes with soup, two side dishes, and a salad. The space is small with few seats, so a wait forms during peak hours.
